2Kg Chubby Dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae

Chubby Dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae are comparable to dried mealworms but have a much higher nutritional value. Research has shown that natural feed with balanced Ca:P ratios (a perfect treat for hedgehogs) increases animal health and contributes to stronger bones and shiny feathers (in birds).

Calcium is especially important for laying birds such as chickens.
Lack of calcium can result in poor laying, soft shells and can cause behaviour problems such as egg eating.
Feeding  BSF Larvae as a treat is an excellent way to increase these vital nutrients and we can assure you, they will soon become a favourite!

Black Soldier Fly Larvae have many branded names such as:
Calci Worms®, Phoenix Worms®, Soldier Grubs®, Nutriworms®, Tasty Grubs®
But are all are the larvae of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens), we'll just keep things simple and call them what they are.

Great stuff

Birds and hedgehogs love these dried larvae. Can’t keep the bird feeder supplied they get eaten so quickly. The hedgehog bowl in the feeding station is empty every morning.

Wildlife feeds

As always, my order of Brambles tinned hedgehog food and black soldier fly larvae are processed exceptionally quickly and arrive in very good time. Been using Chubby Mealworms for over a year now and never been let down.

Great Mealworms

These mealworms are loved by our wild birds and the hedgehogs love them too.

Starling love em!

We put these in a window feeder, then sit back and wait for the fun to begin. The local population of starlings go mad for them, trying desperately to eat as many as they can, whilst simultaneously repelling any other bird that tries to gain a foothold in the feeder box. It is so entertaining to watch. Blackbirds and sparrows like them too, as does our local hedgehogs.
