Answers

Where do your dried mealworms come from?

All of our dried mealworms are imported from China as are all of the other dried mealworms for sale in the UK. Unlike other sellers though that purely buy the cheapest dried mealworms available when they need them we have long standing relationships with our suppliers. This means that we are just as focused on the quality of the mealworms and how they are bred as we are about the price. To read more about our mealworms, suppliers and how they are grown check out our page here.

How much is delivery?

Generally delivery is FREE on all orders to the mainland UK. Full details on delivery and charges can be found here.

Do you deliver to Europe?

Yes we do deliver to most European countries and prices start at just £3.99. Shipping to 6 European countries is in fact only £5.99 for up to 30Kg so there is no excuse not to get the best quality dried mealworms delivered to your door all over Europe. Full details on delivery and charges to Europe can be found here.

Who do you use for delivery?

In the UK we generally send all orders under 2Kg via Royal Mail and all orders over this via DPD courier. Options are given to you at checkout for a faster delivery service if you need an order super quickly.

DPD used to have a not so great reputation in the UK but over the last few years they have really now become the courier that others want to copy! Make sure you supply your correct email and / or mobile number at checkout and DPD will get in touch to advise you of a 1 hour delivery window on the day of delivery.

What if I am not in for delivery?

Royal Mail - If you are not in when Royal Mail come to deliver and the item won't fit through your letter box they should either leave the package in a safe place or with a neighbour if possible. If this option is not available they should leave a card instructing you of how to re-arrange delivery or to collect the item from your local post / sorting office. The process will be the same for whatever other items you have delivered from Royal Mail.

DPD - As long as you have provided us with a valid email or phone number when you place your order DPD should have been in touch with you several times before they actually attempt delivery. You should first get a message when the order leaves us advising you that you have a delivery on its way along with the estimated delivery date. At this point you are given several options to change the delivery if you need to. On the morning of the delivery you should then be sent a 1 hour time slot in which your order should be delivered. Again you are given the option at this stage to re-arrange delivery or to give instructions on where the order can be left safe. If for whatever reason after all of these messages you still miss the deliver you should get a card through advising you of how to re-arrange delivery for free. We find that this information that DPD provides ensures a fantastic delivery experience!

Why do you sell in litres and in Kg?

We are often asked why we sell some of our products by weight and others by litres as this can be confusing. This is basically because the products sold in bags are sold by weight and those sold in tubs are sold by volume. This is due to the fact that the weight of dried products can vary depending on the water content and the size of the actual mealworms / silkworm pupae etc. The tubs we have hold a specific volume and so if we try to fill them with a set weight of a product sometimes the tub may look a bit empty and other times we may struggle to fit them in. By selling the tubs by volume the amount of product you get is consistent.

On our new website we have made it very easy for you to compare prices by putting a price per kg on all product pages.

Why do you not have a phone number?

We do not have a telephone number on our site as we have found over several years that it causes a lot of interruptions (mainly from cold callers) which can interfere with our mojo! As there are only a few of us that work here we are always busy and rushing about from one job to another, by not having the phone it allows our communication to be more organised using email, live chat and social media. We realise that some people prefer the phone to place an order and we will always call you back if you drop us a message asking us to do so.

Full contact details can be found here and you can use the live chat if available.
