Why Choose Chubby Mealworms?
Brushwood Robin Nester – Open Front Nest Box for Wild Birds
The Brushwood Robin Nester is an expertly designed open-fronted nest box for robins, developed in collaboration with TV naturalist and wildlife cameraman Simon King. Designed specifically for UK garden birds, it reflects years of real-world observation of how robins choose safe and natural nesting sites.
Robins prefer an open nest box with easy access but need protection from predators. This bird nester features an open entrance with a concealed nesting chamber, positioned behind a sidewall and protected by an overhanging roof to keep eggs and chicks hidden from view.
Ideal for gardens, sheds, porches, and outbuildings, this lightweight wild bird nester can be wired into hedges or ivy or attached directly to a wall using the supplied fixing wire. It closely replicates the sheltered locations robins naturally choose in the wild.
Constructed from natural brushwood, the nester provides excellent insulation and airflow. A rattan landing platform with a low dividing wall separates the entrance from the nesting or roosting space, making it suitable for year-round use, including winter roosting.
Winner of the Best New Product Design at GLEE in the Pet & Wildlife category, this award-winning nester is also suitable for other open-nesting wild birds such as wagtails and spotted flycatchers.
