6.3Kg Chubby Dried Mixes

We are mixing it up here at Chubby with a combination of our great tasting Mealworms and our new Calci Worms.
This mix is sure to enrich your pet's (or wild bird's) diet giving them a boost of Protein and Calcium in one handy mixed bag.

We all know why our pets love our great tasting Mealworms, but what about our new Calci worms?

Chubby Dried CalciWorms are comparable to dried mealworms but have a much higher nutritional value. They have 23 to 61 times more calcium than other commonly fed feeder insects and naturally feature a well balanced calcium-phosphorus ratio. Research has shown that natural feed with balanced Ca:P ratios increases animal health and contributes to stronger bones and shiny feathers

Calcium is especially important for laying birds such as chickens. Lack of calcium can result in poor laying, soft shells and can cause behaviour problems such as egg eating as the chicken tries to recoup the much needed calcium. Feeding Calci worms as a treat is an excellent way to increase these vital nutrients and we can assure you, they will soon become a favourite!

Calci –worms are in fact the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens). Despite carrying a somewhat aggressive sounding name, they are harmless and wen alive do not bite. During its larva phase, which lasts a few weeks, it feeds off various kinds of organic material, converting this to proteins. The adult fly is able to entirely live off the nutritional reserves it had built up as a larva. This is why Dried CalciWorms have

such a high nutritional value.

A whole variety of animals love the natural goodness in all our 'Chubby' products including wild birds, reptiles, fish, hedgehogs, budgies, sugar gliders and many more. Although you can buy live calci worms, dried calci worms are just as good with the added benefit of easy and long lasting storage. Dried Calci Worms are also a lot better for anyone that is squeamish!

Packaging

6.3Kg of Chubby Mixes comes in a clear plastic bag.

Remember that the bigger the pack of dried Mixes you purchase the cheaper the price per Kg becomes.

The birds and especially starlings are loving them

I’ve had to put a ground feeder out in our front garden as the starlings scoff everything on the hanging feeders in the back and we also have four cats. I see the blackbirds, sparrows etc sitting on our fence then dropping down in the the borders to eat the worms which they love. All the birds were sceptical at first when I changed to these but after a few tries they cannot get enough.

Cheapest around

Had to change my subscription to calci worm/mealworm mix, after big price rise in mealworms, due to Brexit. Good quality bird food.

Fear the garden!

Blige me.... new mealworms, fruit mix and sunflower hearts - It's now like Alfred Hitchcock film in my garden - first thing in the morning there are stealthy black shadows in the sky, strange rustling in the bushes, beaks poking through the overhanging trees... dump the food, run and watch the mayhem! Fantastic!! Thanks....
